Jack Handey once said "I think a good gift for the President would be a chocolate revolver and since he is so busy, you'd probably have to run up to him real quick and give it to him."

These days the president isn't so busy, but if he was and you wanted to get something past him, you'd do it quickly. It's like asking your dad for an advance on your allowance when you know he's half asleep. If we handed to president a chocolate revolver he'd take it, I'm sure, because he wouldn't know what it was and he wouldn't know what else to do. Now, imagine what would happen if you turned that reasoning around to a payday loan.

That is exactly how we are conned into taking out quick personal loans-- we are handed them quickly and without description, and so we take them, not knowing what else to do with something being handed to us. Things aren't handed to us very often, and we are taught that when a bone is throw to us- we'd better take it.

And while most experts will tell you that quick loans aren't the best loans, they do agree that most people are their own worst critics and best judges of character. Most of us know when we are in financial trouble before we are in it. And if we take out quick cash loans it is probably because taking them out is better than the other alternative.

But we shouldn't forget that we love money. And cash loans can get us money, as much as we want, and fast. And most people who are in financial trouble severe enough that it requires a quick loan have already proven to have a poor judgment of need and necessity.

Loan companies thrive on those who are irresponsible with their paycheck. They want to hand you a chocolate gun and run. They hope that it melts in your hand, and you can't pay it back on time. Many payday loans are really just a trap.

But if you are quick to the draw, taking the gun won't be so bad. Pay off your quick loans soon after taking them out, don't take out too many quick loans, and never take out any quick loans for anyone else- because if they don't pay them off you will be the one caught red, I mean, brown, handed.

Jack Handey never took out any quick loans, and look at him. Eat rice for a week, sleep over a friend's house, wear a sweater to bed. It's not the end of the world, and overdue payments on quick loans are. Don't take out quick loans unless someone is pointing a real gun at you.
